
Tim Doucette
General Manager, Genesee Mine
Tim has close to 25 years experience in open pit mining in Western Canada. Tim started his mining career at Placer Dome’s Endako molybdenum mine in central British Columbia, in 1995. Since that time, Tim has worked exclusively in the coal industry and occupied several Management and Senior Leadership roles in Engineering, Mine Production, and Business Development.
After several years in various engineering roles, Tim transitioned to production as Superintendent at the Highvale Mine in 2004 where he remained, in progressively senior capacities, until 2011 having been promoted to General Manager in 2009. Following an engagement as Director of Business Development, Tim decided to move back to mine operations as General Manager of Genesee Mine in 2012. Tim was promoted to Vice President Operations with Westmoreland in 2016 eventually returning to Genesee as General Manager in 2018.
Tim has dual registration as a Professional Engineer and a Professional Geologist with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta. Tim graduated with an advanced BSc degree in Geology from Dalhousie University, a BEng degree in Mine Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia and holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Alberta. Tim has also served as a director on the Board of the Alberta Mine Safety Association since 2016.
