Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer
Scott is a Finance Executive with over 20 years’ experience in a range of diverse roles, within various industries and Company formats. He has been successful in building, developing and inspiring large professional groups within various financial, treasury and tax functions of both domestic and international organizations.
Scott started his career with PwC as an Associate focused on both financial services and high-technology clientele in the Denver, Boulder and San Jose markets. Transitioning to an industry role after three years with PwC, at the onset of Sarbanes Oxley, Scott covered several Senior Management roles as Financial Controller at KB Home and DIRECTV as well as VP of Finance at Right Start, a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation.
Scott joined Westmoreland in 2016 as a Senior Director of Corporate Accounting, and Financial Controller for the majority owned Master Limited Partnership (MLP). From there, he progressed into his current role as Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer of Westmoreland Mining. Scott was instrumental in transitioning the business from a public to private format, through a complex Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and Section 363 asset sale process, involving two public filers within a simultaneous transformation initiative. In parallel, Scott played a pivotal role in the recapitalization effort to re-build the Company’s Debt and Equity structure.
Scott holds a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Accounting from the University of Denver.
