Vice President, Equipment Asset Management
John joined Westmoreland in 1998 and currently serves as Vice President of Equipment Asset Management for all U.S. and Canadian operations. John has 39 years’ experience in the construction and mining industry. Since joining Westmoreland, John has held several key leadership positions at various Westmoreland mines, focused on maintenance and production activities. John previously held several leadership roles with COSMET (International heavy mining equipment owner’s group) and related equipment supplier organizations. In a professional capacity John currently serves within the Associated General Contractors (AGC), American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE), Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute (RMCMI) and the Montana Coal Council.
Prior to his mining career, John held several supervision and field engineering roles for Bechtel, a major international engineering firm. In between John was Owner/Manager of Fire Mountain Enterprises, a General Construction Company servicing commercial projects throughout Eastern Montana.
Prior to and during college John served in the U.S. Marine Corps. John graduated from Montana State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with an emphasis on project management.
